Datatech SmartSoft Inc., is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and visitors. We understand that the information our customers and visitors provide on our website (the "Site") is of the utmost importance and we know it is crucial that we protect their information. We have created this privacy statement ("Statement") in order to demonstrate our commitment to our customers' and visitors' privacy on the Site and to communicate our information gathering and dissemination practices to our customers and visitors. We will provide notification of any change to our policy at least thirty (30) business days prior to the change taking effect.
Information Collected
For each visitor to our Site, our Web server automatically recognizes the customer's domain name and e-mail address where possible. We collect the domain name, where possible, of visitors to our Site, the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages customers access or visit, user-specific information on what pages customers access or visit, information volunteered by the customer, such as information requests, requests for support, website registrations, user name, password, names and addresses. We may use this volunteered information to respond to requests for information or services, or to communicate notices of promotions special offers, or product information.
Data Security
We take the security of the information we collect very seriously. We have safeguards in place to protect all of our customer data from theft, misuse, loss, or alteration, and we review these safeguards periodically. We never sell or rent our customer information to third parties, except where outlined below.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We never share our customer information with third parties, except in the following circumstances:
- we are required to by law, through court order or subpoena
- we acquire, are acquired by, merge with, or form a business partnership with another business entity (we do not sell our customer information for marketing purposes)
- to protect our property and information from unauthorized use
Viruses
We make every attempt to ensure that any product you download from us is virus-free. All of our products and downloads are virus-tested prior to distribution through our website.
Cookies
Cookies are pieces of information that a web site transfers to user's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. Cookies make web surfing easier for the user by saving user's preferences while visiting a website. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information supplied by the user. A cookie cannot read data off a user's hard drive or read cookie files created by other websites. The use of cookies is an industry standard that can be found on most major websites.
We use cookies to record activity at our Site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our Site. Users have the option, however, of disabling cookies via their browser preferences.
Reviewing and Updating Information
Upon request, we provide our customers with access to the financial information (e.g., credit card account information) that we maintain about them, unique identifier information (e.g., customer number or password) that we maintain about them, transaction information (e.g., dates on which customers made purchases, amounts and types of purchases) that we maintain about them, and contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain about them.
Customers have the right to opt out of receiving certain types of information from us eg marketing information, but we reserve the right to continue to send product announcements, downloads and service updates to active SmartSoft customers without offering the ability to opt out. We do this because we consider such information to be an important part of your software subscription.
Children's Privacy Policy
Datatech SmartSoft Inc. does not target its services to, and does not knowingly collect any personal information from, users under 13 years of age.
Policy Changes
We reserve the right to make changes to our Privacy Policy where appropriate. We will notify you of any changes or updates to this policy clearly on our Privacy Policy page, highlighting any changes made. By continuing to use this site after such changes are posted, the user acknowledges acceptance of these changes.
Effective Date
This policy is effective May 1, 2011.
